Listen here, darlings.
2011 is really starting out with a bang. I mean a musical one. Everyone loves music, it would be completely ridiculous not to. Here's a few record that I've been listening to lately.
W O U N D E D R H Y M E S , L Y K K E L I
Like Lykke Li's prior records, her mesmerizing voice draws focus to her songs. Not only her voice, but also the very eloquent and melodic hook. Mostly Wounded Rhymes is about tragedies, broken hearts and love...and well sexual intercourse in one or two song. Though her choice of lyrics in this album is a bit different from her previous albums, here she sounds a bit darker and gloomier. Also the lyrics are just a tad more deeper. But nonetheless, it's an easy listening record and very recommended.
Z O N O S C O P E , C U T C O P Y
If you have never heard of Cut Copy before, well you should. Their electropop music and lyrics are sure to make you get up off your feet and move. But Zonoscope is sort of different if I might say so myself, compared to their last records. It's a bit more soulful than the last one and a bit less jiggy. And may I mention that their cover art is awesome, definitely an eye catcher.
K A P U T T , D E S T R O Y E R
What can I say about Destroyer that hasn't already been said? I've fallen in love with them since I first heard Painter In Your Pocket. Dan Bejar's soothing voice combined with the melodious hooks in this record can put an angry lion to sleep. Kaputt doesn't sound much different than any other Destroyer albums. But this time there's just a brighter spark to this album. I literally can't stop listening to Kaputt.
U N D E R N E A T H T H E P I N E , T O R O Y M O I
I'll be honest Underneath The Pine is the first Toro Y Moi album that I've listened to. I mean I've heard of them before and I was always curious of what they sound liked, but I guess I didn't really get the time to look them up. Until now. So here's how you pronounce the name TORO-EE-MWAH, just in case you didn't know, cos I sure as hell didn't know at first. This record is very deep on their instruments. Lyrics well yeah they're their but believe you me, their harmonies will really make you listen.
So there you go, I was gonna put in Radiohead's latest, but I think everyone's heard enough comments about Thom Yorke and his lotus flower. Okay folks, I'm gonna get my brunch on. Ta-ta.

Mum, Ford and their Sons.
This morning I woke up to the smell of breakfast and rain. Cheese omelette with bacon and a perfect cup of cafe latte on a rainy Sunday morning. Sounds brilliant right? Because it is.
There is a downside to Sundays though, the fact that the next day is Monday.
Anyways, as you might know or not know, I am a film enthusiast. So after breakfast, I turned on my mac and watched an episode of British teen-dramedy 'Skins'. It just entered it's fifth season and I must say though not as good as the previous seasons, it still succeeds to entertain me. One of the things I love about this show are the music they use. A perfect mix of everything.
Speaking of music, I've started listening to Mumford & Sons. I've known them for some time now, since I first played 'Little Lion Man' on Tap Tap Revenge 3 (thank you Apple and Steve Jobs). But I didn't really listened. So this time I did and I've got to say they're a big question mark. I mean Marcus Mumford does sound like someone I can't put my finger on and most of their songs have repetitive lyrics that always starts with And (sentence)....And (sentence B). Did I mention the songs in their debut album Sigh No More all sound alike and runs with the same story line? Heartbreak. Boo freakin hoo. I guess if you're heartbroken and-or a really sensitive loner they could work for you. Sine they do have all the cliche heartbreak lines and whatever. And I'll be honest before you call me a hypocrite, I might have tweeted a line from their song, but that was only because that line was literally what I was thinking.
So Mumford & Sons is actually perfect for all those of you who's heartbroken, out of love and trying to suck as much melodramatic and melancholiness as you can. BUT and this is a HUGE but, can't believe they got to perform with Bob Dylan at the Grammys.
Okay that's it for the time being. Gotta go watch Booth and Brennan solve a murder case. Cheerio.

Good for the soul
If you read my recent posts, you would know that I'm currently going through exams and tryouts. And boy, has that been strenuous! Today's Saturday and instead of going through my usual routine, by usual I mean malls and stuff. I've decided to getaway from the hustle bustle of busy Jakarta to a place of serenity cause believe you me I need the quite. So here I am, with some things that I love.
- HOT SHOWERS - and by hot I mean hot, like 'burn-your-scalp' hot. That sounds terrible, so let me rephrase. I mean so hot as to make you feel like you never want to step out of that shower. Yes, that sounds better.
- SUPER FAST INTERNET CONNECTION - who doesn't love this right? It's basically a religion to the world. Well except for atheists and Amish people. But even so, if they did use the internet they would want fast connection.
- PIZZA - well you kinda have to order you don't just get it for free but they have really fast delivery service.
- CHEESE AND CHOCOLATE
- MACBOOK - I don't need to say anything for this one.
- MOVIES - dvds, tv series' well basically things that you can watch videoclip-wise
- MUSIC - yes. of course this is on my list.
- SUPER FAST INTERNET CONNECTION - wait..did I say mention this already?
I feel so at peace and it's like I wanna stay here forever, but I can't. Gots to go back to Jakarta to uhm....go to school on Monday. Bleh. Just let me graduate already. I'm tired of uniforms and being forced to memorize how rocks are formed. Alrighty, I'm gonna stop right now and end this post with a quote.

#LOVEGARAGE
So here I am, sitting alone at the rooftop of a certain coffee parlor. I'll give you a hint, starts with an S, ends with an S. Okay, it's Starbucks. I love this place. It's so peaceful and subtle. The fact that it is currently raining, just made my day, week in fact.
I haven't posted anything in a while due to the hustle and bustle of my High School life which hopefully will end by May. For the next 2 months that are ahead of us, I will be busy with tests and tryouts and exams. Bugger. So I'm using the little time I have, to refresh and relax.
Last Tuesday was a public holiday, can't remember exactly why it was though. Anyways I attended a certain concert that was headlined by Two Door Cinema Club and Flight Facilities. To be honest, I first hesitated to attend. I bought a ticket at the very last minute, even then I wasn't sure whether or not I was gonna go. But I had already forced my best friend to buy a ticket weeks before, so backing out at the last minute was not an option anyways. Needless to say, going to 'Love Garage' was absolutely worth it. The concept was very refreshing, just what I needed to take my mind off things. The performances were mind-blowing and so was the crowd, it was super packed!
Welcome to Love Garage by Ismaya Live
Flight Facilities
Two Door Cinema Club
By the end of the night, I was completely love-struck with Flight Facilities. Well one of them at least. When I say love-struck, I mean completely obsessed. This is absurd for me, since I don't usually enjoy DJs let alone become obsessed. Sorry for the lack of quality in the pics, the spot where I was, wasn't first class or anything. Overall, I would say everyone that attended probably had a fantastic and super-fun time. Great job Ismaya Live, Dimensions and EX!
